Indiana Wesleyan University Chorale to Sing at First Baptist Church of Tellico Village

First Baptist Church of Tellico Village is pleased to announce that The University Chorale from Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, IN, will present a concert at the church on Saturday, March 25, at 7:00 pm. The public is cordially invited to attend. This outstanding choir previously sang at the church in September 2015, and we are quite pleased to host them again.
The Indiana Wesleyan University Chorale, under the direction of Dr. Todd Guy, strives to present the finest level of performance and ministry in choral music. This 85-voice ensemble, with membership decided by competitive audition, represents a wide spectrum of fields of study and seeks to worship Jesus Christ through a diverse repertoire of music, including sacred classics, hymns, spirituals, and contemporary compositions.
Dr. Jim Barnes, President Emeritus of Indiana Wesleyan University and a member of First Baptist Church of Tellico Village, says, “The Indiana Wesleyan University Chorale is one of the finest collegiate chorales in the country. The Chorale provides an incredible and dynamic blending of voices, as well as a most aesthetic, inspirational, and memorable experience.”
The Chorale has appeared as musical guests for Dr. Robert Schuller’s “Hour of Power” at the Crystal Cathedral and has ministered through music at Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church under the pastorate of Dr. D. James Kennedy. They have also performed in Europe with concerts at St. Giles’ Cathedral, Edinburgh, Scotland; St Michael’s Church, Haworth, England; York Minster, York, England; Christ Church College Chapel, Oxford, England; St Paul’s Cathedral, London, England; and Sacre Coeur, Paris, France.
The concert is free. No love offering will be received. It is a gift from First Baptist Church of Tellico Village to the community.
First Baptist Church is located at 205 Chota Road in the heart of Tellico Village. The Pastor is Dr. Charlie Barnard, the Minister of Music is Rev.
