Adjacent to a historical site located less than 100 yards from the restaurant, the Tellico Iron Company, which manufactured munitions for the Confederate Army during the Civil War, was also an important center of Cherokee culture. Rich in history and natural beauty, Iron Works Grille on the River, located on the shore of the Tellico River in nearby Tellico Plains, is a very special place to experience the magic of a Smoky Mountain spring. From the picturesque mist shrouded Smoky Mountains to the rapids of the Tellico River and Bald River Falls, Iron Works Grille guests are treated to both the best nature has to offer and a great dining experience.

Beginning in March, Iron Works Grille on the River will be open on Mondays. Hours will be Thursday through Monday from 11 am to 9 pm. Be sure to mark your calendars for their special Prime Rib Dinner on Friday and Saturday evenings starting at 4 pm. The price is $21.99 per person and includes two sides.

“We also invite you to savor our gourmet burgers, sandwiches, and salads while enjoying our more than 300 feet of pristine and serene Tellico River shoreline,” said Mary Spencer, Iron Works Grille co-owner. “Also, be sure to ask about our now-famous and original bacon wrapped Wickles Pickles and homemade pork rinds, which are available in different flavors with our very own homemade ranch-style dressing or mild sauce. You’ll also want sample our extensive selection of on-tap craft beers and wines. We are also very proud to be the recipient of the Taste of Monroe’s ‘Best Overall Restaurant’ Award in Monroe County for 2019.”

Mark your calendars as well for the Iron Works Spring Thaw Craft Fair from 11 am to 8 pm on Saturday, March 21st.  They will also be featuring the bluegrass music of “The Travelers” from 11 am to 1 pm and Sarah Williams from 5 to 8 pm. Stop by and enjoy the handmade crafts of local artisans, great entertainment, and incredible food.

Iron Works Grille is also a great venue to enjoy your favorite sporting events that are featured in their indoor and covered outdoor areas on their new widescreen TVs and surround sound systems. Be sure to ask about their $1.99 Thursday nights kids specials in addition to live music on most weekends featuring local artists.

Planning a special event? Ask Iron Works Grille’s events coordinator, Kayla Cummings, just how they can help. Their venue is large enough to host a variety of events, including wedding rehearsal dinners, holiday parties, birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, and beer/wine pairing dinners – you name it.

Also during your visit, be sure to check out their gift shop, which features local crafts and Iron Works Grille tees to help you remember your incredible day of relaxation on the river.
