Village Homes

A new name with a 25-year legacy

Village HomesTellico Village is home to a new home builder, Village Homes.  But there’s a twist.  This newest home builder is built on the same foundation as the community’s oldest and most established home builder, Cooper Homes.

Mountain Views recently interviewed Village Homes’ founders and brothers, Dan and Wes Cooper, formerly senior managers with Cooper Communities and Cooper Homes.

Mountain Views: Tell our readers about Tellico Village area’s newest home builder, Village Homes.

Dan Cooper: While the name may be new to most residents and out-of-state property owners, Village Homes founders and management team, including myself and Wes Cooper, reach back over 25 years to the creation of Tellico Village and were the community’s very first home builder, Cooper Homes.  Well known to most residents, Jeff Seese, who had built new homes primarily in Rarity Bay, joined the Cooper Homes team in 1995.

MV: Village Homes would appear to be founded on a rather significant legacy.

Wes Cooper: Since completing construction of our first home in Tellico Village in 1986, we have built nearly 1,000 homes and townhomes in Tellico Village, making us the home builder of first choice.  We’re grateful for the trust placed in us by so many families and, as always, are deeply appreciative for that trust.  We take very seriously the responsibility of helping so many families to discover an entirely new future for themselves in the Tellico Village area.

MV: Where will Village Homes be headquartered?

Dan: We will still be located in the Tellico Village Visitor Center at the intersection of Tellico Parkway and Chota Road.  And our phone number will remain the same, (865) 458-6813.

Wes: Visitors will also observe another noticeable change when visiting in that the Visitor Center will also be the new and much expanded home of Lakeside Real Estate Group.  Lakeside is also home to many realtors whose faces and names will be familiar to most of you as former members of the Cooper sales family.

MV: What other changes will would-be homeowners experience at Village Homes?

Dan: I think the first thing a homeowner will experience is a much more streamlined management team experience.  Free from the management responsibilities that required overseeing a large multi-state corporation, we’re free for more day-to-day, hands-on experiences with each of our clients.  Frankly, it’s something we had all missed in the past.  Spending time with customers one-on-one is a very rewarding experience.

Wes: Would-be homeowners will also observe a renewed emphasis on ENERGY STAR certified homes.  With rapidly escalating energy costs, many homeowners have come to discover that combined energy costs can be their single largest financial outlay monthly.  To date we’ve built nearly 20 ENERY STAR certified homes in Tellico Village.  We would welcome your inquiries if you have an interest in home energy conservation.

MV: Anything else you would like to share with our readers?

Wes: We will be offering a “Village Series” of home plans which offer homeowners with pre-priced plans, as well as a selection of pre-priced options which allow would-be homeowners the ability to customize their homes while saving both time and money.

Dan: Village Homes will also build from customer provided plans or we can assist them in designing their new home from the concept stage.  Village Homes has five new home consultants to work with our customers through every phase of the building process – from obtaining a homesite and selecting a plan to interior selections and closing.

Wes: Our goal is to make the home building experience as easy and trouble-free as possible.  We provide a complete line of services resulting in a turnkey fixed-priced contract without the surprises.

MV: Would you like to make a final comment to our readers?

Dan: Once again, I would like to personally thank your many readers whom we have had the pleasure to work with over the past 25 years.  I would also like to invite would-be homeowners to discover for themselves how Village Homes can help them to experience an extraordinary lifestyle in Tellico Village.
