Shepherd of the Lake Lutheran Church Welcomes New Pastor

Shepherd of the Lake Lutheran Church is happy to announce the installation of our new Pastor, The Reverend Ingrid Schalk. Entering our third year as a chartered congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, Shepherd of the Lake is now beginning a new phase of their mission to love, serve, worship, and grow.
Pastor Schalk comes to us from Peace Lutheran Church in Knoxville, where she completed a two-year term call as Associate Pastor. She was ordained at her home congregation, St. John’s Lutheran Church in Knoxville, in April of 2014 and was invited to preside at the closing service of the 2014 Southeastern Synod Assembly in Chattanooga. Pastor Ingrid has a background in teaching, is especially drawn to care-giving ministries, and has preached in both men and women’s correctional facilities. She serves on the Local Community Resource Board at Morgan County Correctional Complex in Wartburg, TN, and is an active member of Knoxville Christian Arts Ministry, an ecumenical group whose mission is to share the good news of Jesus in prisons across Tennessee through music, drama, and dance. She is a long-time member of the Knoxville Choral Society.
