Multiple award-winning soprano, Angela Brown, has performed worldwide, appearing at the Metropolitan Opera, Lincoln Center, opera houses in Vienna, Paris, Cape Town, Berlin, Edmonton, Calgary, Shanghai, Moscow, and throughout the United States. With a charming personality larger than life, she unites opera, pops, and gospel in one sensational voice. A featured artist on the two time, Grammy Award®-winning recording, “Ask Your Mama,” Angela’s international reputation continues to grow.

The Knoxville Choral Society: Appalachian Tales and Tunes with Bill Landry and Charles Maynard

The 120 voice Knoxville Choral Society teams with actor/producer, Bill Landry, best known for “The Heartland Series” television program on WBIR-TV in Knoxville, and storyteller and author, Charles Maynard (“The Blue Ridge: Ancient & Majestic” and “The Blue Ridge Parkway”), for an evening of music and storytelling related to the traditions, humor, and faith of the Appalachian people.

The area’s largest Christmas celebration, once again the choirs and ringers of the Community Church join with members of the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Dr. John R. Orr to present an evening of Christmas favorites for all ages.

From the Mountains of East Tennessee, Southern Gospel Music fills the air and is the home of The Kingdom Heirs, one of Southern Gospel Music’s top male quartets. The group sang in local churches and concert halls in 1981, and as their music and message spread to a wider audience, so did their popularity and demand. In 1981, they began singing at the Silver Dollar City theme park, which is now Dollywood. In 1986, when the theme park took on their new name, The Kingdom Heirs were asked to become the resident gospel group, and this year both The Kingdom Heirs and Dollywood will be celebrating 28 years. Not only are they one of Dollywood’s favorites, but they’re a favorite to millions everywhere.

Apollo’s Fire: The Cleveland Baroque Orchestra: Sugarloaf Mountain

Chosen by Gramophone and BBC Magazine as among the “Top 20 groups in North America,” the Cleveland Baroque Orchestra, Apollo’s Fire has sold out concerts around the world with their virtuosic instrumental technique and authentic interpretation of music from all styles. Using harpsichord, dulcimers, fiddles, singing, and dancing, they present an intimate evening of song and dance called a “gathering” celebrating daily life, song, dance, love, and prayer.

Heather Lynn Sorenson: Christian Composer, Pianist in Concert

Composer, pianist, and songwriter, Heather Lynn Sorenson joins the choirs of the Community Church and members of the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra to present a concert of Heather’s sacred music for choir, piano, and orchestra. A “Music Sunday” for the entire community featuring one of today’s most beloved composer/performers.

The Community Church Concert Series is a non-profit fine arts series hosted and sponsored by the Community Church at Tellico Village.
