Rolling with the Changes

It is with a heavy heart and mixed emotions that I announce this to be my last writing as the Artistic Director of The Village Salon. But as time has taught us all, there are many changes in life.
As many of you know, January 1, 2016, was the retirement date of Miss W. Faye Whitehead, the founder of The Village Salon. Our salon began in the Whitehead basement in June 1988, and for 28 years, my mother, Faye, has been the leader of a small business that now employees a staff of 20 and touched the lives of thousands. If any of you happened to be around in 1988, you surely realize what a visionary Miss Faye was to begin such a small business in a community with less than 100 residents. Well, almost 29 years later, let me say that it looks like this small little business just might make it after all.
As the new administrator of The Village Salon, it is my goal to continue providing quality service, reasonable value, and the finest staff available. The template for success that Miss Faye has provided us all will always be in place.
The title of Artistic Director will now be handled by Miss Christy Noe Ingram, and she will begin the writing duties associated with it. It pains me to say that Miss Christy is far more talented, charming, funny, and knowledgeable than myself, and for regular readers, she is surely to be quite a step up from what you have grown accustomed to.
Please allow me the opportunity to give out a few special thanks as we undergo a kind of changing of the guard. First, our entire community should be thankful for Miss Faye Whitehead, our owner and founder. She has truly touched the lives of many and made each and every one of them better in some way. Second, let me thank my father, Bud, who behind the scenes has kept the wheels of our little family business well-oiled. His efforts are often overlooked but never underappreciated. Next, let me thank our staff, both current and past. We have always made every effort to assemble the finest staff possible, and they are considered to be family. Lastly, a special thanks to all of our patrons who have supported us for all these years. Without you, there would be no Salon Biz brought to you by The Village Salon in East Tennessee’s Mountain Views.
Our entire salon family looks forward to continuing to serve the community, and Miss Christy will look forward to sharing her thoughts on how you can best enjoy your salon visits in the future.
