By Christy Noe Ingram, Artistic Director
If you missed last month’s episode of “Salon Biz,” you might be wondering who the heck is this? And where the heck did Brian go? Let me shed some light on that for you. With Momma Faye taking her well-deserved retirement, Brian will be taking on more responsibility around the salon, and trust me, we are a full-time job. One of his first delegations was to appoint me as the new Artistic Director for The Village Salon, so now I’m driving this bus. They say the best place to start is at the beginning, so allow me to introduce myself.
My name is Christy, and I was born a hairdresser. Designing hair, and all that comes with it, is not only what I do – it IS who I am. Growing up the daughter of a hairdresser, I spent lots of time in the salon, which allowed me to observe and learn. Soaking it all in, it became my passion, and it became clear to me this was my destiny. Dolls, family pets, and neighborhood kids were my guinea pigs. Don’t worry, no one was harmed in the making of this hairdresser. Although I am pretty sure my mother lost friendships as the result of some not-so-professional pigtail removal.
1991 was the year my cosmetology career began. For the past 25-plus years, I have served in almost every aspect of this industry, from assistant to salon owner, and now my newest role as the Artistic Director for The Village Salon. My goals for “Salon Biz” are to educate you on ways to simplify your daily hair life, give tips on making your salon visit the most pleasant experience possible, and inspiration to step out of the box and try new things. Lastly, to incorporate our Facebook page, The Village Salon in Tellico Village, and utilize Facebook live to post tutorial videos on hair and fashion.
It is an honor to be the new Artistic Director here at The Village Salon, and this will hopefully become a place you can visit each month for your styling inspiration. Please feel free to supply me with any helpful ideas for topics to come, and as always, consult your salon professional for any of your styling needs.
