Not surprising, my passion is antiques, and it has been for as long as I can remember. I owe my deep interest in antiques largely to my mother, who turned 101 years old this year.
The antique business is also a great business for a mom like myself with small children and a busy and occasionally hectic lifestyle. The flexibility of antiquing allowed me to pursue both my passions: my children and my antiques. Thirty years later, and with the kids grown and pursuing their own lives, I’m still pursuing my antique career.
Today my antique shop, located in historic downtown Sweetwater, is a thriving business featuring an eclectic mixture of both vintage and antique quilts, furniture, glassware, china, children’s books, cookbooks, and collectibles. As if this vintage and antique treasure trove weren’t enough, all of these beautiful items are showcased in a remarkable historic building in the heart of historic downtown Sweetwater. Built in 1914, our building originally housed a silent movie theater and later a restaurant operated by a local entrepreneur and father of Pat Richesin. Our century-old building retains much of its historic charm and is the perfect complement to all of the vintage and antique items you’ll discover inside, all of which were personally selected by me.
When you do visit, be sure to ask me about our special line of premium products designed to restore, enrich, protect, and clean your finest furniture from Howard Products. Howard Products has been trusted by fine furniture owners since 1967.
So if you share a love of antiques like I do, I would like to personally invite you to visit Cones Cupboard Antiques in downtown Sweetwater. While you’re here, be sure to visit my neighbors, Only The Best Consignment Boutique and The Robin’s Nest, which is under new ownership.
