“I’ve been truly blessed,” says Rosie, Vittorino’s Cucina owner and founder. “Although raised in Southern California, my Italian grandparents and mother shared with me their passion for true Italian cuisine. Our Italian roots take us back to Palermo, in the Southern boot of Italy, where we incorporate fresh, farm-raised vegetables and meats into our daily passion for food. But as many of you undoubtedly know, different areas of Italy also boast of their own unique regional cuisine of which Southern Italy is very popular. Fortunately, I was encouraged to travel extensively throughout my life, and as a result, I have been able to experience these different regional delicacies.”
Today Rosie now offers her unique taste of Italy at two area restaurants in Loudon and Sweetwater called Vittorino’s Cucina Italian Ristorante. Expect to discover a wide array of Italian favorites, including many regional specialties.
I ordered the Zuppa Di Pesce, a combination of shrimp, mussels, and clams on a bed of homemade linguine with a fresh wine seafood sauce. Yes, I said homemade pasta. All the pasta made at Vittorino’s is homemade, as are all of the sauces.
My dinner was, simply, “magnifico.” In fact, I found the food to be every bit as good as the food I dined on during our two recent trips to Italy.
If you’re an Italian cuisine aficionado, Rosie is happy to take requests. If you have a sauce preference, she is more than happy to accommodate your individual tastes whenever possible. Rosie and her team are also able to cater your special events.
“Vittorino’s Cucina has truly been a blessing for me,” says Rosie. “I hope you’ll visit us soon and taste my grandparents’ and mother’s recipes, which have been handed down to me.”
Experience true Italian cuisine and the same hospitality that guests discover when dining at Rosie’s home.
