East TN Mountain ViewsCome experience a different kind of Beatles Tribute – a one-of-a-kind show that blends the great classic songs of the British Invasion with hilarious on-stage antics. On Saturday, June 30, at the Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center, the nationally known group, The WannaBeatles, will be performing all of your favorite songs from the iconic group, along with selections from other quintessential bands of the ’60s and ’70s.

“We are thrilled to announce that The WannaBeatles will be performing in our amphitheater, and we are expecting quite a show!” said Logan Hull, Director of Special Events at the Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center. “This is a unique opportunity to hear this Grammy Award-nominated band here in Townsend.”

The Heritage Center, as it is affectionately known, is at its core a Heritage and Cultural Museum and has been hosting concerts in its covered amphitheater for more than 10 years.

“There is no denying that music is an integral part of our history in East Tennessee, and we are lucky to have this facility to host this amazing group,” said Logan. “This Nashville-based band has been the only tribute act to have actually written songs for Paul McCartney, and they have brought smiles to fans for years!”

Dennis Scott, one of the four dynamic members, is a two-time Grammy and Emmy award-winning composer and producer. His songs have been recorded by such artists as Ray Charles, Faith Hill, and even the Muppets! He and his band will be playing oldies and goodies such as “I Want to Hold Your Hand,” “Can’t Buy Me Love,” and “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band,” as well as medleys from such bands as The Monkees, The Who, and The Doors.

The ticket sales from this benefit concert will directly support the Heritage Center’s mission of preserving, protecting, and promoting the unique history and rich culture of this region. The Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and is located only 45 minutes from West Knoxville at 123 Cromwell Drive in Townsend.
