From my earliest childhood memories, my entire family, all Monroe County natives, instilled in me a sense of responsibility to my neighbors and my community. But it was more than just a responsibility. I was taught it was a privilege. It’s a lesson that my husband, Matt, and I remind our three children of often.
I guess that’s why I enjoyed serving as the Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Club of the Monroe Area, because I and a truly remarkable team of dedicated staff and volunteers believed that our children represent not only the future of our community, but our nation as well. Thanks to the staff, volunteers, and donors, the Boys & Girls Club of the Monroe Area has made a huge difference in the lives of so many children, the impact of which will be felt in our community for many years to come.
I am truly grateful for this wonderful opportunity to have served alongside so many wonderful people. But now I have undertaken a new challenge, a new opportunity for the future, having transitioned from the non-profit world to the world of small business ownership.
I recently purchased a Madisonville icon, Hall’s Florist & Gifts, which has been renamed Madisonville Petals & Gifts. And while the name has changed, and you’ll likely see other changes in the months and years ahead, our commitment to unsurpassed quality and service will remain rooted in Hall’s more than three decades of service to our community.
