One of the most important being that the wood and other materials are not treated with pesticides and other chemicals that continue to emit toxins into your home long after you made the purchase. Amish furniture is made from domestic hardwoods such as maple, cherry, oak, and hickory. By the way, pine and poplar are not considered hardwoods; therefore, these woods aren’t used to make fine Amish-built furniture.
