Cast Set for Tellico Players October Musical Comedy, The Honky Tonk Angels

The cast has been selected for the Tellico Community Players’ October production of Ted Swindley’s musical comedy, The Honky Tonk Angels. Play dates are October 12-14 and 19-22.
The plot features three gusty gals determined to better their lives and follow their dreams to Music City, USA. Swindley, who created ALWAYS… PATSY CLINE, combines more t han 30 classic country hits in the production, including “I’ll Fly Away,” “Stand by Your Man,” “9 to 5,” “These Boots Were Made for Walking,” and “I Will Always Love You.”
The Cast
Emilee Jane Richardson will appear as Angela, a middle-aged Texas housewife with a great sense of humor and a fiercely independent streak. Emilee has a wealth of musical theatre and opera experience. Residing in Kingston, TN, she has performed at the Oak Ridge Playhouse, sung with the University of Tennessee and Lee University Opera houses and with the Roane Choral Society. She was a soloist in Handel’s Messiah at the Tellico Village Baptist Church.
Anna Caroline Causey will play Sue Ellen, a middle-aged Los Angeles career woman who is a “citified” country girl – exemplifying smarts, beauty, sex, and frustration. Anna is a Knoxville resident and has musical theatre experience with the Oak Ridge Playhouse performing in All Shook Up and Fiddler on the Roof. She also has performed with the travelling choir of the Freed-Hardeman University Acapella Singers and is a vocal participant in her church’s worship ministry.
Desireè Dezutti will appear as Darlene, the youngest of the trio from the Deep South – a simple, pretty, sweet woman who grew up in a coal mining West Virginia town and in the Mississippi Delta. Desireè is a Loudon resident with singing experiences with Madison Central and Lenoir City High Schools. She performed numerous roles in high school musicals, particularly the role of Dorothy in the Lenoir City High School production of Wizard of Oz.
Debbie Mayberry and Dennis Loy are co-directors for the show, and Wendel Werner is the music director. Reserved seats at $21 will go on sale September 11 on the Tellico Community Players Website at www.TellicoCommunityPlayhouse.org.
