MACA Performance Series Tickets Now On Sale

Tickets for Monroe Area Council for the Arts (MACA) 2012-2013 Performance Series at Hiwassee College in Madisonville are now on sale. Patrons who purchase season tickets save 50% on the box office ticket price for five shows.
The series will open Friday, September 14 with rising stars The Secret Sisters. Since releasing their debut album in 2012, real-life sisters Laura and Lydia Rogers have been performing songs which highlight their pure vocal harmonies while touring worldwide.
International country star Rodney Crowell comes to town on October 1. Inducted into the Songwriter Hall of Fame between Willie Nelson and Guy Clark in 2003, Rodney Crowell has written songs for Emmylou Harris and Bob Seger. He has also collaborated with Johnny Cash, produced breakthrough albums for other artists, and charted five of his own number one hits on the Billboard charts. His latest album, Kin, a collaboration with best-selling poet and writer Mary Karr, features some of the best-known names in the music industry.
Toronto-based guitarist Jesse Cook, who last appeared on the MACA stage in 2007, brings his passionate blend of funky jazz, Latin, and world music to Hiwassee on February 4, 2013. Winner of a 2001 Juno Award in the Best Instrumental Album category, Jesse became Acoustic Guitar Magazine’s Player’s Choice Award silver winner in the Flamenco category in 2009. He is a three-time winner of the Canadian Smooth Jazz award for Guitarist of the Year.
Comedian Leanne Morgan, described as Scarlet O’Hara turned soccer mom, brings her southern charm and humor to the MACA stage on March 7, 2013. The University of Tennessee graduate has been a finalist at the Las Vegas Comedy Festival and has been featured in a hilarious housewives segment on The View. She is under contract with Warner Brothers and ABC to develop a sitcom based on her comedy.
The World-Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra will close the season with a Sunday matinee on May 19.
