As a Certified Financial Planner and investment manager for more than 30 years in Atlanta, my wife Trish and I decided to retire and move to the mountains of Western North Carolina near Cashiers and Highlands. However, after six years, I concluded that total retirement wasn’t for me. I had a strong sense that I could still make a difference by helping retirees and pre-retirees achieve their financial objectives. In addition, we felt somewhat isolated where we lived and had a desire to make new friendships and participate in various recreational activities, including pickleball and golf, which we really enjoy.
After spending three of the winter months this year at our home in Roatan, we moved to Tennessee in April. Currently, we are living in a small townhouse rental while we build our home on a golf course.
After speaking with Tom Irmen of East Tennessee’s Mountain Views, I decided to advertise in his publication and write this short article. Basically, what I’d like to convey is that I’m just like you. At age 72, I confront the same financial uncertainties, stress, and physical challenges as you. And while I can’t provide solutions to all of life’s challenges, I promise that I will use my more than three decades of financial expertise and 72 years of life experience to help you achieve your financial and retirement goals.
