Upcoming Events at the Public Library at Tellico Village

September 6, 10 am to noon: Michael Grant, author of “In the Time of Famine,” which is about the Irish Potato Famine in 1845 that caused the death of more than a million Irish and forced another two million to flee the country, will be discussing his new book, “Manhattan.” This is a continuing saga of a family fleeing to a chaotic New World. Presentation is at 10 am followed by a discussion and book signing. 

September 10 & 13, 9:30 to 11 am: September 10: Part One – Legal Aspects of Native American Removals; September 13: Part Two – The Actual Removals. While there is no charge for these two sessions, please call the library at 865-458-5199 to reserve a seat.

September 21, 3 to 6 pm: 4B’s Festival at the library. Friends of the Library members are $40, non-members are $45. One ticket includes BBQ & sides, wine, beer, bluegrass music, and three free books of your choice. Children under 12 are free. Festival tickets may be purchased at the Tellico Village Library.

September 23, 1 to 2 pm: Janice Wade-Whitehead, CEO and President of Alzheimer’s Tennessee, will be discussing “Brain Health.” She has been with the organization since 1991. The organization serves 26 counties in East Tennessee. Please call the library at 865-458-5199 to reserve a seat for this free session.

September 24, 5 to 6 pm: Maximizing Your Social Security Benefits, presented by Garrett Crawford of Providence Advisors Group. Please call the library at 865-458-5199 to reserve a seat. There is no charge.
