Landscaping done well complements the architecture of your home and does not overwhelm or obscure it. Those may seem like strange words coming from an engineer with 32 years of experience, including the development of sophisticated U.S. military missile systems, but in my case, it’s not. Actually, I’ve combined my experience in architecture and engineering with my passion for art and beauty to launch my own landscaping firm. It’s a small company, and I often perform much of the necessary work personally, but the results speak for themselves.
My real expertise is in re-landscaping existing homes where too many plants, the wrong type of plants, or erosion have transformed a once beautifully landscaped yard into one where several thousand dollars of plants and materials have begun to overwhelm a once very beautiful home. During the summer, I personally visited nearly 10,000 homes in Knox County in support of a political campaign and observed firsthand the large number of homes where landscaping had gotten out of hand.
I particularly enjoy working with homeowners who wish to restore their home’s once beautiful landscaping that offered symmetry and balance by combining the right number and types of plants with other landscaping materials to achieve that “showcase home” appearance where the landscaping enhances, and not detracts from, your home’s unique architecture.
If your home’s landscaping has gotten away from you, and if you would like to restore your home’s former architectural prominence in your landscaping plan, I’d invite you to call me at (865) 617-3211. Landscaping done well cannot only enhance your home’s curbside appeal, but it can also help increase its market value, too. Experience for yourself landscaping done right.
